Cottage Caregivers recently launched a program the Brainy Day Activity Program into our overall senior care program. This program helps with getting in touch with self-awareness, making decisions as well as laughing and reducing boredom. The Brainy Day Activity Program was developed by a nationally certified activity director with over 20 years experience with seniors having Alzheimer’s and Dementia. The program was developed after a year of searching, discovering and redefining the products and activities. They invited activity professionals, in-home care providers and consumers to participate in focus groups as they tested the concepts and activities.
A recent review of scientific research shows that puzzles, games and other mentally challenging tasks may be beneficial for people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s. In an attempt to provide cognitive stimulus and enjoyment to Alzheimer’s patients and those suffering from other forms of dementia, Cottage Caregivers has adopted the Brainy Day Activity Program into our senior care program. The Brainy Day Activities program consists of a series of activities, games and puzzles that are age appropriate, safe, colorful and fun. These activities meet the cognitive, physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals suffering from early, mid and late-stage dementia.
We are very excited about bringing this new program to our valued clients and families. We have already seen what a huge difference this can mean to those suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
